Event Details Downtown & YP Wednesday Evening Bible Studies & Fellowship Nights Back to Calendar Downtown Parish Wednesday Evening Bible Study & Fellowship Nights. The Downtown Parish gathers into small groups for study. You can choose a co-ed, men, or women's group. We will enjoy three evenings of dinner and fellowship throughout the study. It is likely that most of us have not spent any appreciable time in the book of Leviticus. It is understandable as Dr. Jay Sklar comments that "both historically and culturally seems very disconnected from our world today". Rites, rituals and sacrifices seem far from the pressures of our everyday life, right? "It would be a tragic mistake," says Sklar, "to overlook this book. In its pages, you will find answers to some of the most pressing questions we ask as human beings: Who are we? Why are we here? What is life about anyway? How can I find meaning and purpose? And you find these answers here, because Leviticus describes a point in human history when the God who gives us meaning came and dwelt in the midst of the Israelites and taught them what their purpose in life really was."
